Session 1
How to Win in hr by being intentional
Every HR pro faces the challenges of meeting job requirements and working through intention means you can structure your day to stay on task, adjust for changes,  as well as take on new projects and interests when your day blows up. In this session we'll work through how you can structure your days and adjust for changes.
Session 2
How to get people to listen to hr the first time
Getting employees and managers to listen to HR the first time is no easy feat. We'll talk about how to build working relationships, establish boundaries, and build best practices to continuously gain buy-in, get managers and employees to execute sooner rather than later - or never.
Session 3
active shooter training and disarmament demonstration
This bonus session on Active Shooter training will take place in Provo and will be streamed live for all registered attendees in Baltimore and Dallas. This session includes a disarmament demonstration. This training will also be available later on the HR University for a fee. Attendees of our Winning in HR series will receive virtual access at no additional cost.

Brenda has been featured in Forbes, Fast Company, Inc, as well as US News and World Reports. She started as an HR sprout after a solid fourteen year career in retail management. She really enjoys helping people solve their unique problems, and human resources offered her the ability to support her co-workers in a greater capacity. Having the benefit of working for a total of five Fortune 500 companies, she converted her experience into advising her audience to use tried and trusted best practices that help small businesses achieve their workforce goals.

In her combined 30 year career in human resources and business, she has consulted to over 500 small businesses and C-suite leaders. She has optimized employee effectiveness and helped mitigate the high costs that are associated with making hasty employment related decisions.

She has been involved with employee situations where they have engaged in workplace violence, a near stabbing, deliberately inciting fear in other coworkers, stalking women, breaches of protocol around national security, assault, suicide, death, homicide, and a potential active shooter.

Brenda is a devoted volunteer in the Navy SEAL Community and is constantly finding new ways of supporting veterans of Naval Special Warfare. She dedicates 32 weeks a year working with The Honor Foundation to support the career transition of Special Forces personnel by providing them with her knowledge, insight, and creativity.

Suzanne Lucas spent ten years on corporate Human Resources where she hired, fired, managed the numbers, and double-checked with the lawyers. In 2009 she left the corporate world to focus on helping HR everywhere be the best it can possibly be.
